Advertisers can upload completed ads directly to us for use in our publications. The required format for ads is PDF using the "PDF/X-1a:2001"
setting.
Due to increasing costs, we regret that a $100 charge will be added to invoices for ads submitted that do not meet our specifications starting October 1, 2008. Please read the specifications carefully before uploading by clicking here. You will need an account number to access the download center. If you do not have one, please contact one of our sales representatives by clicking here. A QUICK GUIDE TO AVOIDING PRODUCTION CHARGES: 1. MAKE SURE THE AD HAS THE CORRECT SIZE AND BLEED (ADD BLEED ONLY WHEN NEEDED). Sizes are subject to change. The size listings in the upload dialog are up to date. Your ad should match that size. 2. NO TRANSPARENCIES, see our specifications. 3. CMYK COLORS ONLY. WATCH YOUR INK COVERAGE. 300% is the absolute limit. 4. HIGH RESOLUTION, 300 dpi images, 1200 dpi line art, as used. Resolution down to 200 dpi for images and 600 dpi for line art will be let go, but quality will suffer. 5. FONTS MUST BE EMBEDDED. 6. PDF's OVER 100MB MAY NOT UPLOAD. Use PDF Optimizer to reduce your file size. Typical maximum size for a full page PDF should not be over 40mb. PLEASE PREFLIGHT YOUR FILE BEFORE SENDING TO US!
